At the foot of Mount Royal, Montreal’s lively Golden Square Mile is renowned for its Victorian-era architecture, including regal mansions owned by the city's cultural and financial elite.

One of those homes belonged to Col. George Stephen Cantlie, the longest-serving member of the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment) of Canada. Today, at the site where Cantlie’s former residence stood is the home to Hotel Le Cantlie Suites Hotel.  A beautiful mid-century modern landmark with a rich history. As a family-owned, independent hotel, we pride ourselves on offering guests an authentic, personalised alternative to larger branded hotels. 

We have designed our hotel to reflect the building’s mid-century aesthetic with clean lines, open spaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows that seem to draw the outdoors in. Interiors are appointed with custom-made furnishings and period-inspired artwork and sculptures.
